Town's U18s beat Portsmouth 3-2 in extra time on Monday night to progress to the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup. Goals from James Krause, Billy Clarke and Danny Haynes ensured an away tie at either Manchester United or Stoke City.

Town came from two goals down at half-time to defeat QPR 4-2 in a thriller at Loftus Road. The Blues had been in front through Jason De Vos but Paul Furlong (2) put the home side in front. However, second half goals from Darren Bent, debutant Darren Currie and Shefki Kuqi won the points.

Town came from two goals down at half-time to draw 2-2 at Crewe. Poor defending allowed Dean Ashton to score twice before the break, while the Blues missed several good chances. It was all Town in the second period and Richard Naylor and Darren Bent netted the goals which gained the Blues a point.

Town's reserves lost to an experienced Crystal Palace side 1-0 at Selhurst Park on Tuesday night. Sandor Torghelle scored the goal for the Eagles, who included Town loan target Shaun Derry in their starting line-up.
